General Conference

I just love General Conference! And so this past weekend was absolutely wonderful!! Jared spoke in church the week before conference on how to prepare to receive revelation from the Lord through the words spoken by the speakers. He did such a fantastic job and it really motivated me to do a little more preparation than I have done previously. I had started praying weeks before that I would have the Spirit with me to guide my thoughts as to the things the Lord wanted me to know. I also thought and wrote down three questions that I really wanted answered. I continued to ponder those questions and pray about them until conference.
So on Saturday and Sunday, we went to Jared's parents and watched the sessions. I can't really explain in words how I felt those two days. The talks were amazing and I truly was given answers to the questions I had pondered. I was also so excited to hear about the 5 new temples soon to be built! When conference was over, I went away with a new sense of motivation and spirituality for my life. With all that's happening in the world, I have often felt fearful of what the future holds but after hearing all the comforting words I truly know that the Lord is aware of everything that is going on and He will not leave us comfortless. I received so many insights from each talk but one that was monumental for me right now was the closing talk on Sunday morning by President Monson. He spoke about change and really helped me establish those things that are important. I need to make the most of today and not focus on the past. FIND JOY IN THE JOURNEY! I know that He loves everyone and has tremendous blessings waiting for us, if we only take those steps to receive them. It's amazing how when you thoughtfully prepare, the Lord can truly speak to you.

President Monson's talk was my favorite. I loved it. I love the spiritual uplifting that conference can bring bi-annually. :) too bad the next one is after nearly 6 months of poop weather. :(

I also loved Pres. Monson's talk on finding Joy in the Journey, I always feel like I can relate so much to what he is saying.
