On Ethan's birthday we celebrated by having a party at Jared's parents new house. Although it was just family, we had a lot of fun together; we only wish my family could have been there as well. I wanted to do something cute that might just be a little memorable. I decided to use the primary colors as a theme for it. Then I found a few ideas around the web and a party was created!! I made a picture banner that consisted of pictures from Ethan's first year. It was really neat to go back and look at how much he's grown and changed.

I also made this birthday banner. When I first finished it, I hung it up in our kitchen and when Ethan woke up from his nap I brought him out and he took one look at it, started pointing and made his excited face. (Refer to above posts-I'm sure you'll see it!) He did that anytime he looked at it.

I really wanted the cake to be awesome and because I love to bake I decided on these. They were so fun and really easy to make. I first saw the idea on Our Best Bites. And they were delicious!!!

The Birthday Cake!

The inside of The Birthday Cake!! I found a similar idea at The Idea Room several months ago but she made hers into 6 layers and I just wasn't sure anyone could eat that much cake!! The 2 layers seemed to be perfect!! I love how it looks like {Play-Doh}. Amy at The Idea Room has some way cute, fun ideas. Make sure to check her out!

Birthday Boy

Family Picture

Ethan & Aunt Kylie

Ethan loved the balloons. He carried this one around and would hit it around like a punching ball. It was so cute! You can see the shirt I made him pretty good in this picture. I was kind of a last minute thing and I wish I would have put something else on there but I think it turned out alright.

Jared tied to balloon to Ethan's belt loop and he worked so hard to grab the balloon as it floated up.

Up until this point, Ethan hadn't had any cake, ice cream, cookies, etc. He was never a very good eater and I knew if I gave him any of that, that's all he would want. So when we first put the cupcake in front of him he didn't really want anything to do with it. Then I put it up to his lips and after he licked them, he dug in!!

Yummy!

I loved it!
